How does meditation benefit the skin?

In today’s technologically and medically advanced world, there are numerous ways in which one can improve their skin. Without a doubt the easily available over-the-counter products are at one’s disposal to get rid of adult acne and wrinkles but there is a well experimented way in which one can be free from their skin issues and save yourself tons of money and side effects that come along with these products.

You can get beautiful radiant glowing skin by practicing meditation. Many celebrities with luminous skin such as Jennifer Aniston, Eva Mendes and Naomi Watts etc talk about how not only has practicing.

Transcendental meditation not only brought them at peace but also how it has improved their skin and brought its natural glow to surface. It’s a known fact that being stress free can bring the color back to your skin and can stop you from breaking out as well as attaining wrinkles at an early age. Due to stress, numerous skin issues such as psoriasis, hives, eczema and acne etc flare up. Acne’s severity is directly linked to heightened stress, in the way that the receptors that produce sebum are the receptors for stress which leads to the individual breaking out. Furthermore, stress produces cortisol, which throws of other hormones of your entire body. By meditating one focuses on one idea, one stress free object and make it their center of attention. Rather than focusing on the woes of the past or the anxiety for the unforeseeable future, the individual practices their energy on the present. The authentic meditation allows one to live in the present stressful moment.

It doesn’t take much to mediate, just a good old yoga mat or a cushion on which the individual can comfortably sit or lie on. Then they should proceed to closing their eyes and focus on their breathing by inhaling and exhaling in a slow motion rather than doing it swiftly, until one feels at ease and comfort. For beginners, they should try to mediate for three to four minutes and then gradually shift to longer periods when they get used to being in the same posture for a given time. Meditation should be practiced in a peaceful environment in order to reach full Zen potential. By meditating regularly one would be in a state of serenity and hence less stress free, this in result would make their skin luminous, wrinkle free and acne free.
